On February 6 Steve Levy spoke on “Solar Photovoltaic Opportunities and Case Studies for the TVA Region.”(PDH)
Steve spent 35 years in electric power generation, energy storage, transformation and switching. He is experienced in solar energy, high efficiency gas discharge lamps, pulse power, capacitive energy storage, thermophotovoltaics, and thermionic converters. Steve was hired by EPRI to be the Director of the EPRI Power Electronics Applications Center in Knoxville. He is now co-teaching solar energy at UTK in the Materials Science Department at the graduate level and presently serving as Technical Director of the Tennessee Solar Energy Association.
For the February 13 meeting Mike Wehrenberg, VP / Gen Mgr of Kendall Electric, spoke about the Smoky Mountain Regional Robot competition coming up in March. For many years, the NASA Robotics Alliance Project (RAP) has been supporting participation in the FIRST Robotics Competition by providing grants to high school teams as well as sponsoring FIRST regional competitions.

The company provides engineering, architecture, construction, environmental and consulting services for the aviation, defense, environmental and utilities markets.
He describerd several contractural models for construction projects and gave the advantafes of each.
